STREET VELODROME'S RIDE ON SUSTAINABILITY

OUR APPROACH

Street Velodrome is fully committed to reducing its carbon footprint, in line with its parent company Cube Management's ISO20212 accreditation, and by following the UNFCC sustainability guidelines.

Using the Ecolibrium carbon management software, our most recent activations show that we are significantly lowering our carbon emissions compared to previous trips, utilising less vehicles to transport the SV infrastructure and engaging and hiring local event staff. We are fully focused on working with the local community & our pro rider coaches in order to promote community engagement and reduce our team's travel costs.

OUR COMMITMENT

  • We work to our parent company's ISO20121 certification standard

  • We seek to recycle all of our event waste in partnership with local authorities

  • All waste will be separated in line with local authority objectives

  • We use digital methods for participants to sign waivers

  • We encourage all participants to use re-usable water bottles

  • We use re-usable zip ties on all our branding

  • We use biodegradable accreditation stamps, instead of paper wristbands

  • We ask all staff to remind participants and guests to recycle

  • We promote cycling as a mode of sustainable transportation

  • We regularly check and service our vans and trailers so they run efficiently

GOING FORWARD

  • Reduce the weight of the load in the vans to make it more eco-friendly on travel

  • Use solar energy to power event electrical requirements

  • Regular reports of our carbon emissions

  • Hire local workforce at events to minimise travel requirements

  • Improve power efficiency to reduce energy consumption where possible

TOGETHER

We believe a bicycle is a better mode of transport than a car, where practically possible. It reduces the cost of travelling and, therefore, carbon emissions, and helps to keeps us all fit, both mentally and physically.
